14/10/2016 - AFI KLM E&M's subsidiary EPCOR extends contract with Honeywell

EPCOR now licensed to help improve customer savings and operations.

Rolle, Paris, Amstelveen, October 14, 2016- European Pneumatic Component Overhaul and Repair (EPCOR), a wholly owned subsidiary of Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, has extended a long-term Auxiliary Power Unit service center license agreement with Honeywell (NYSE: HON). The contract supports the AIR FRANCE KLM group and third-party fleets.

As part of the new license, EPCOR will enhance its maintenance, repair and overhaul service center offerings for customers with Honeywell's industry-recognized auxiliary power unit (APU), which provides compressed air to start the main engine and power the Environmental Control System. Customers will benefit from an agreement between a major OEM and a world class MRO providing parts which are maintained and repaired by the manufacturer-trained engineers.

"As the inventor of the APU, Honeywell fully understands customer needs to maximize reliability while reducing maintenance expenses. Our legacy in APUs means we can deliver the highest level of quality and expertise," said David Shilliday, vice president, Commercial Aviation, Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, Honeywell Aerospace. "This APU service center license agreement is a continuation of our long-term relationship with AIR FRANCE KLM group to deliver best-in-class technology capabilities."

Dennis Wetjens, managing director of EPCOR, aims high when asked about the future of his company: "With Honeywell as one of our partners we can provide our customers with outstanding services on repair and overhaul of high quality APUs. Our intention is to set a new standard for our industry regarding quality of service, on time performance and innovation. Ambitious? Yes, but achievable".

The new license agreement will be valid for 10 years. Additionally, EPCOR remains an authorized APU service center for the following models: 131-9A for Airbus A320; 131-9B for Boeing 737NG; 331-350 for Airbus A330/A340; and 331-500 for Boeing 777.
