AFI KLM E&M affiliate seeks to propel itself to highest operational performance levels
Paris, Amstelveen, 19 October 2016 - CRMA, the AFI KLM E&M affiliate based at Elancourt, just outside Paris, for close to 25 years, specializes in engine part and assembly repairs, and is now launching Apollo, a vast project to expand its production capacity in response to its expanding activities and growing client demand.
With a reputation for excellence in its field, CRMA aims to leverage this project to optimize its capabilities and operational performance for the benefit of its clients. On a rapidly growing market, the extension to CRMA capacity is vital if the firm is to meet present and future maintenance needs for existing projects and new-generation engines such as the GEnx. In practice, the project involves adding an additional 2,500sqm production area and investing heavily in new, state-of-the-art, engineering equipment. The project also includes a "flow optimization" component, again designed to improve the quality and TAT of its operations.
Second-guessing client expectations
Benjamin Moreau, CRMA Chief Executive, explained: "The market for engine overhaul and maintenance, its component products, along with client expectations, are constantly evolving. With this extension project, CRMA will be able to align its production capabilities on these structural changes and is adopting a stance that will allow it to meet future client requirements, on the basis of some of the highest, most exacting standards of operational performance. And we'll be doing that as part of the global AFI KLM E&M MRO network, in line with the Group's overall business strategy, which prioritizes a positioning on new generation aircraft engines." Currently in the pre-project phase, Project Apollo is scheduled to deliver the new capacity in the second quarter of 2018.
