02/12/2011 - Olivier Mazzucchelli To Co-Helm Spairliners


 

Change in leadership at "A380 component service" joint venture between Air France and Lufthansa Technik

Spairliners, a Joint Venture between Air France and Lufthansa Technik, is delighted to announce its new CEO Managing Director. Olivier Mazzucchelli joined the company and co-helms Spairliners alongside of André Schulte-Bisping. With the new management board the company continues to provide a high standard component service customized for A380 operators.

 


Olivier Mazzucchelli is an engineering graduate from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers (ENSAM, Paris), with a specialist diploma in negotiation from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées school of engineering. He started out at Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales (YPF) as a safety Auditor, before moving to the Air France Group in 2000. For two years he headed the "Flight Crew Roster Optimization" computerization project at the Crew Operation Directorate. He joined AFI's Materials and Services Division in 2002 as head of Logistics, becoming in 2005 Head of Overhaul programs. He held this position until 2007, when he became Sales Director, Regional Fleets, AFI KLM E&M until his appointment as CEO of Spairliners.

 

Mazzucchelli said he was "delighted to be taking over the running of a joint venture that is today a model of business success and which has combined the strengths of two groups which have traditionally been competitors. Our maintenance activity is based on three strong, long-term clients.
That said, the forthcoming sales campaigns will be decisive and will allow Spairliners to assert its key player position in the A380 components market, alongside Airbus."

A joint venture between Air France (50 percent) and Lufthansa Technik (50 percent), Spairliners operates as an independent company ? headquarter based in Hamburg. Backed by both expertises, the component support provided by Spairliners covers, in all market regions, the full range of services from MRO activities to spare parts inventory management and the associated logistics. The repair of A380 components is distributed between Air France Industries' component overhaul facility E.O.L.E. near Paris Orly airport and Lufthansa Technik's component workshops in Hamburg.
