The two groups have stepped up their cooperation in recent years.
Paris, Amstelveen, 3 May 2012 - AFI KLM E&M was recently awarded multiple engineering projects by International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC). The modification projects include a wide range of work for A320 and A330 aircraft, including cabin, avionics and material management.
Strong relations between the two partners
This cooperation is an additional sign of the privileged ties existing between the two groups in recent years. Relations between AFI KLM E&M and ILFC are structured in the framework of an overall "General Terms Agreement" (GTA), enabling them to work together not only in the areas of modification engineering and execution of modification programs but also in engine overhauls. For example, AFI KLM E&M overhauled two of ILFC's A320 engines previously operated by Mexicana.
Since 2010, the two organizations have progressively stepped up their cooperation, and AFI KLM E&M has earned the trust of the US aircraft lessor by satisfying its specific expectations. These mainly derive from the reactivity and capability of AFI KLM E&M staff when it comes to adapting to fast-changing work scopes. In return, ILFC has contributed its vision and knowledge of the market and encouraged its partner to develop innovative solutions at more competitive and attractive prices.
Fabrice Defrance, AFI KLM E&M Senior Vice President Commercial: "Our cooperation with ILFC is a full-fledged win-win partnership. By working together, ILFC encouraged us in our adaptive approach to customers needs and be even more responsive and imaginative finding tailor-made solutions to their demands. ILFC has in-depth knowledge of the market and is continually encouraging us to get involved and challenge our own received wisdom. The experience that we have acquired through our contacts with them also benefits other projects and other clients."
Rich Poutier, ILFC Vice-President Technical, added: "We are continuing to build on our good relationship with AFI KLM E&M and strengthen our mutually adaptive approach to identifying maintenance solutions at competitive prices when making a decision for a maintenance provider."
