09/10/2012 - AFI KLM E&M Scores New Russian Success With NordStar Airlines

Russian carrier to benefit from CFM56-7 engine and APU support for coming years.

Paris, Amstelveen, 09 October 2012 - AFI KLM E&M has signed a long term contract with Taimyr Airlines (t/a NordStar) covering the repair and lease of the CFM56-7 engines equipping the Russian carrier's fleet of Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft. AFI KLM E&M will also provide NordStar Airlines with APU support, the APU repairs being carried out by AFI KLM E&M's subsidiary EPCOR.

Adaptive maintenance solutions 
AFI KLM E&M was able to win this new client over on the strength of the competitiveness, quality and Adaptiveness of its offer. "Supported via its vast Global Network AFI KLM E&M has the advantage to offer customers tailor made maintenance solutions. About NordStar (Taimyr Airlines)
NordStar (Taimyr Airlines) is an efficiently developing aviation project of Russian metal company Norilsk Nickel. One of the main tasks of the carrier is to provide effective, qualitative and efficient/valuable air communication between Krasnoyarsk and some of the biggest cities of Russia, as well as within Krasnoyarsk Region territory. The carrier operates with a B737NG, B737CL and ATR 42-500 fleet.

EPCOR is a wholly-owned subsidiary of KLM Engineering & Maintenance, part of the AIR FRANCE KLM group, holding EASA, CAAC, CAAV and FAR 145 certification. Within the group EPCOR provides MRO support for the APUs and pneumatic systems of a wide range of commercial aircraft. EPCOR maintains APUs on B737NG, B777, A320, A330, A340 and the APS2300 for the Embraer 170/190 aircraft. The latest addition for EPCOR is the APS3200 capability for the Airbus A320 family-aircraft.  EPCOR is also an OEM warranty approved Honeywell and Hamilton Sundstrand Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) repair center. Besides the APU capability EPCOR also maintains and overhauls air cycle machines, environmental control systems, starters, leading-edge flap drive units and many other pneumatic and nitrogen components installed on large commercial aircraft.
