22/01/2009 - Kelowna Flightcraft signs exclusive CF6-50C2 maintenance contract with AFI KLM E&M

Paris, Amstelveen, 22 January 2009 ? Kelowna Flightcraft has signed an exclusive 6-year contract with Air France Industries (AFI) and KLM Engineering & Maintenance (KLM E&M) to maintain the CF6-50C2 engines on its fleet of DC10-30 freighters. AFI and KLM E&M will perform the maintenance in KLM E&M's engine shop at Schiphol Amsterdam airport, one of the world's largest CF6 engine maintenance facilities. Kelowna chose AFI and KLM E&M because of the strength of their CF6-50C2 power plant maintenance and support experience.

"We knew that a successful entrance into a new aircraft and engine type would require us to team with partners that could provide support from our start-up phase through to full operations? said Barry Lapointe, President of Kelowna Flightcraft. ?We reviewed the marketplace and are confident that KLM E&M is the right partner to meet our needs."

"We are very proud to contribute our experience to Kelowna and count them among the ever-growing number of our "engine" customers,? added Rob Pruim, AFI KLM E&M Vice President Sales International. "Together, we have come up with a solution that is both stable and easy to schedule. It will enable us to provide the best possible operational services for their cargo customers throughout their domestic network. We are delighted that Kelowna Flightcraft have selected us and look forward to helping them achieve their short- and long-term objectives."
