AFI KLM E&M tests, repairs and overhauls components in all ATA chapters in its state-of-the-art facilities.
Of all MROs, AFI KLM E&M has the largest number of ATEC test benches: 17 Series-6 ATEC benches, located in various places around the globe, available to check and analyze the latest generation of avionics and control systems.
AFI KLM E&M has a license from EADS to develop Test Program Sets (TPS). Furthermore, it has the capability to design and manufacture test benches to carry out level 3 repairs for both digital and analog boards and units thus contributing to the global effort for sustainable development.
One of the solutions AFI KLM E&M offers is component pooling (not to be confused with IATA Pool which functions on the basis of component rental for subscribers). A component pool comprises an extensive inventory of components configured at an optimum technical standard and common to several operators who benefit from economies of scale that cannot be materialized in a stand-alone scenario.
The supplier acts as a single source for all the customers in the pool contract, and handles on your behalf the repairs and applicable modifications, writes the workscope, defines the optimum engineering standards, develops repair solutions and brings the component to you wherever and whenever you need it. You can thus concentrate on your core business: flying!
To provide for your immediate requirements, we base a dispatch-critical component inventory (Main Base Kit) very near your operational centers and manage the repairs of your unserviceable parts: TAT is therefore no longer an issue for you.
Pooling is today an established concept that delivers optimized component availability at minimum cost. It generates economies of scale on smaller fleets and guarantees homogeneous standards to operators of large fleets.
Under exceptional circumstances, when an aircraft is grounded, our AOG assistance service is staffed 24/7. It supports more than 400 A/C of the combined AIR FRANCE KLM Group fleets and is thus on-call to handle our customers dispatch-critical component requirements.
The component inventories are based in our two main logistic centers in Roissy-CDG and Schiphol-Amsterdam; regional inventories are also positioned in Asia and North America , ready to be shipped off. AFI KLM E&M benefits from the worldwide network of the AIR FRANCE KLM Group, from its partners and from its cargo organization. We also work with a carefully selected set of logistic partners to guarantee global coverage alternatives.
In addition, our customers can either loan or lease the required component or carry out a routine standard exchange with an up-to-date component standard in order to help them to keep their spare parts investment at a minimum level.
To ensure the effective application of maintenance programs, AFI KLM E&M supplies customers with component management and engineering services in order to optimize the planning, technical status, repair development and timely availability for the whole component repair cycle.
AFI KLM E&M also manages the warranties with the manufacturers on behalf of its customers.
