Mathieu Essenberg works at KLM since 2002, holding various management positions within KLM Cityhopper and Flight Operations. Subsequently, he served as SVP Airframe/Operations at Engineering & Maintenance from 2018-2022 where he was responsible for aircraft maintenance for the KLM fleet and global clients.

In 2022, he became EVP Hub Operations, and since then he has been leading the Ground Services (GS) division in this role. In this capacity, he is also a member of KLM's Executive team. Furthermore, he is also qualified as a captain on the Boeing 737.

Since 1 January 2025, Mathieu is appointed Executive Vice President KLM Engineering & Maintenance.
